For storm water control, the logs can be used to slow down the velocity of storm water run-off, thus stabilizing slopes.
In shoreline/stream channel applications, the logs are resistant to the forces of water. Not only great for stabilizing shorelines, they can provide bedding where the seedlings and/or cuttings are inserted into log with sediment. As the coconut fiber log biodegrades, the plants develop a well established root system in the shoreline sediment to retain the soil in place.
Great for use in catch basin protection, keeping unwanted pollutants from entering into sewer systems. |
